Upper Mustang Trek, the most popular trek in Nepal, is one of the most thrilling and exciting treks to the land of the forbidden kingdom within Nepal, Lo-Manthang. This Upper Mustang Trek does not fall under the challenging category, as any normal hike experience person can do this trek.
This trek will encounter you with the “Loba” people, often referred to as the inhabitants of Lo-Manthang, who have an interesting culture and history. The Upper Mustang Trek passes through the Kali Gandaki, the world’s deepest gorge.
Upper Mustang, which lies in Nepal’s border area to Tibet with desert-like lands, is the trans-Himalayan region that stays dry throughout the year. Lo-Manthang is the ancient capital of the Mustang. The people living in this region share a similarity with Tibet, along with Tibetan culture.
Most of the locals are Gurung, Tibetan, & Thakalis. Tamang, Bhotiya, Limbus, and a few other ethnic groups are also found in this region. The arid nature here resembles somewhat of Tibet, with dry land, and peculiarly shaped & colored rocks. This region was opened to the public (organized treks) in 1992.
This trek to Upper Mustang is very carefully designed by our professional guides and explorers so that one can get enough acclimatization, witness the glory and beauty of the region, and enjoy each moment while fully exploring the region with its amazing history.
Still, if you have a few extra days to spare, you can visit Muktinath Temple, one of the most sacred sites of Hindus dedicated to Lord Bishnu.
Trekking across the breathtaking desert vistas and historic monasteries of Upper Mustang will reveal the ancient, secret kingdom buried beneath its surface. Enjoy the stunning Himalayan vistas while losing yourself in the rich culture of Tibet. Get in touch with us now!

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing: UNESCO World Heritage Sites
After breakfast, our guide will take you to the Swayambhunath Temple. Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple, is a revered and historic Buddhist stupa atop a hill in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley. It represents Buddhism and Hinduism. The sound of revolving prayer wheels, burning incense, and waving colorful prayer flags in the breeze will welcome you as you ascend the hill. When you reach the summit, you’ll be drawn to the enormous stupa with eyes painted in each cardinal direction. From the pinnacle of Syambhunath stupa, you will get to witness the stunning view of the Kathmandu Valley.
Spending a few hours exploring and discovering this stupa’s beauty, we drive to our next attraction of today, Kathmandu Durbar Square. The Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur Durbar Square or Hanuman Dhoka, is an astonishing attraction with history, culture, and beautifully built architecture tucked away in the middle of Nepal’s capital city. It draws tourists from all over the world. As you enter, you can witness the Kumari Ghar (the Temple of the Living Goddess) standing in the middle of the square.
