Experience the breathtaking vistas of Mount Everest, Mount Nuptse, Mount Lhotse, Mount Ama Dablam, and Thamserku during the trek from Namche Bazar to Tengboche. After passing through Kayangjuma, Sansa, and Phunki Thenga, the route crosses the Dudh Koshi River on a bridge. The route climbs steeply for almost 500 meters after crossing a river, arriving at the summit of a hill known as Tengboche town. Tengboche is a remarkable location. The largest Buddhist monastery, Tengboche Monastery, is located at an elevation of 4,000 meters on top of the settlement. In Nepal’s Everest area, one of the largest monasteries is Tangbuche monastery.
The monastery’s initial edifice was constructed between 19 and 23 AD. It was reconstructed after an earthquake that devastated it in 1934. Rebuilt with volunteer assistance and international money, it was damaged by fire once more in 1989. Tengboche offers breathtaking views of Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum Khangkaru, Kongde Ri, Mt. You will see stunning views of the Himalayas as well as Mt. Pumori (7161 m), Khumbutse, Khumbu peak, Nuptse, Baruche, and Lola peak as the route goes on to the Khumbu Glacier moraine. You may experience some shortness of breath owing to the high altitude when we reach the Khumbu glacier moraine. The journey from Dingboche to Lobuche will take around five hours.
Overnight at lodge in Lobuche.
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5180m) Hike to Everest Base- Camp (5364m) & back to Gorak Shep (8hrs)
The trekking route to Gorak Shep traverses the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, offering views of the surrounding peaks and the north ridge of Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumo Ri, Mahalangur, and Mt. Nuptse. After around three hours of trekking from Lobuche, we will arrive at Gorak Shep. Eat lunch at Gorekh Shep and then take a little nap. The last location to find lodging at a lodge or guesthouse is Gorakshep. One of the highlights of our journey is Everest Base Camp, which is around three hours away from Gorak Shep. Continue hiking to reach it. We trek for an hour and a half before getting our first view of Mount Everest after passing past the enormous icefall and glacier on the route.
We go along a track that has multiple ups and downs at a high altitude, exploring the stunning scenery of the icefall glacier and the Snowcap Mountains. Overnight at Gorakshep.
Day 11: Hike to Kala Pattar (5545m) for sunrise; descend to Gorekshep & Pheriche (4210m) 7hrs
For us, it is the hardest day of the entire voyage. We begin our journey to Kalapatthar at 4 a.m. in order to witness the breathtaking dawn and the mountain range. Traveling from Gorekhshep to Kalapatthar will take two to three hours. After a protracted but genuinely thrilling and daring hike, we will eventually arrive in Kala Patthar. Next, take in the breathtaking views of several mountains, such as Mt. Everest (8848 meters), Mt. Pumo Ri (7161 meters), Lingtren (6749), Khumbutse peak (6640 meters), Baruche (7129 meters), Nuptse (7861 meters), Aama Dablam (6856 meters), Kangtega (6685 meters), Thamserku (6608 meters), Lhotse (8516), and the Tibetan ranges, which are the final mountain ranges on the far right-hand corner. We’ll take in the expansive vistas of the Himalayas while preserving the memories on camera.
One of the life-long, memorable memories we will have is this one. Note that you may experience hypoxia and cold, that your water bottle may freeze, and that your phone and camera may malfunction. Don’t forget to get protective gear like gloves and a warm cap, as well as thick, warm clothing. Because of the bitter cold, we don’t stay at Kalapatthar for very long. After spending around 30 minutes capturing every memory on camera in both still and motion pictures, we return to Gorakshep, which takes another hour or so. After breakfast, make your way via Lobuche and Thukla to Pheriche (4210 meters). We travel to Thukla, where we will eat lunch, after two to three hours of descent from Gorekhshep. It would take an additional hour to descend and explore the Pheriche valley and river before reaching Pheriche village from Thukla.
Overnight at lodge in Pheriche.
Day 12: Pheriche to Phortse (3810m) via Pangboche 5-6hrs
It would take around 5 to 6 hours to climb from Pheriche to Phortse village (3810 meters). Together with several types of Himalayan birds, the walk offers views of wild creatures such as musk deer and mountain goats. Reaching Upper Pangboche settlement (3930m), we descend from Pheriche. The village at the top of the world is how people refer to it. Two branches split off from Upper Pangboche on the path. Declining on this path bypasses most hikers and yak traffic, leading to Tengboche. However, we drop directly to Phortse hamlet. Journeying to the picturesque town of Phortse from Pangboche will about three hours. This village’s monasteries were constructed in the sixteenth century, and the customs and culture haven’t altered since then.
Overnight at lodge in Phortse village.
Day 13: Trek Phortse to Khumjung (3780mm) 6hrs
Trek for around six hours after breakfast from Phortse village to Monjo village. After descending steeply for around twenty minutes from Phortse village to the Dudh Kosi River, cross the bridge, and arrive to Phortse Thangka. For almost 45 minutes, we make a sharp ascent to reach Mongla Hill, which is located at an elevation of 3973 meters. Aama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Khangkaru, Kongde Ri, and Tawache peak are all beautifully visible from Mongla Hill. Enjoy a relaxed meal while taking in the expansive mountain views at Mongla Hill. Down to the well-known hamlet of Khumjung from here. Supposedly, the largest village in the Khumbu area is Khumjung village. Established by Sr. Edmond Hilary in 1960, the high school is well-equipped. Interact with kids and faculty at the school in the afternoon, then visit Khumjung village to learn about Sherpa customs and way of life in the Khumbu region.
Overnight at lodge in Khumjung village.
Day 14: Trek Khumjung to Bengkar (2630m) 5hrs
After a leisurely breakfast, begin the hike. An hour or so is needed to arrive at Namche Bazar. Before we descend, spend some time in Namche Bazar for lunch. We take the Dudh Koshi river to descend the valley. It descends steeply from Namche and takes around three to four hours to reach Bengkar. Along the path lies the picturesque town of Monjo, which is close to the Sagarmatha National Park boundaries. You may walk to Bangkar from Monjo for an additional hour. You might choose to tour the village and surroundings in the evening.

Day 15: End trek, Bangkar to Lukla (2840m)
Our expedition to Kalapatthar and Everest Base Camp ends today. Begin your morning hikes, taking you across the Dudh Kosi River’s riverbed and its many ups and downs as you explore several Sherpa hamlets. We will also visit a number of monasteries that have distinct Buddhist customs and culture along the route. After checking into the hotel in Lukla, we will unwind before taking the next day’s flight back to Kathmandu. Tenzing-Hilary Airport, another name for Lukla Airport, is a little airport in Nepal’s lower Khumbu area.

Day 16: Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu (1310m) 35 min flight
The breathtakingly beautiful mountain flight from Lukla to Kathmandu takes 35 minutes, arriving at the domestic terminal of the airport. Day 17: Free/Leisure day in Kathmandu
Additionally, Lukla has a spare day in case of inclement weather. Always keep in mind that there is a considerable probability of flight cancellations due to Lukla’s weather. As an alternative, you might take a leisurely stroll around the Kathmandu valley’s local tourist market to see how the locals live.
